The gates opened a little early on Saturday night, due to the amount of racers waiting in the entry lot.  Most had been sitting there since around 2:30 pm, and the closer to 4pm it got, the heavier the flow of cars was.  So, the gates are open and the party is getting started.
Race control opened the staging lanes at 4:30pm and it has been a constant stream of racers going by the tower.  Should not be a problem to get the 8 bikes needed for the KOTS BIKES! program.  There are a lot of bikes on hand.
The grandstands are starting to fill up.  Milan Dragway has a hardcore fan base, and a hardcore racer base for the Street Warriorz event to cater to.  No better place to spend your weekend or your money than at a Street Warriorz event. The practice session for the KOTS and KOTS BIKES! just finished up.  The bikes are going to be competitive, while the KOTS class is up in the air.  A Vette and an old school Mustang seem to have the advantage.  But, that’s why you run the race.  Once they get lined up, anything can happen.
The KOTS program has come down to the semi final.  The Vette, Mustang and Chevy II plus a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (definitely cooler than a Grand Am) have won their way to the end.  The only surprise is the Pontiac.  It looks like a single mom, every day grociery getter to me, but the kid has spent some time and money getting his ride drag race ready. I predict the Chevy II and the Mustang wind up in the final.  The 16 car field has come down to the 4 most legitimate contenders.  Can’t wait to see how this thing shakes out. Over at the main stage, the Guitar Hero competition is rocking!!  I heard a score of 564 notes.  The best ever at a Street Warriorz event.  Not only is the stage rocking, the chicks are smoking hot.  Beautiful people all over here at the Milan Dragway. In the semi final of the KOTS, the Chevy II got beat by the Vette and the Pontiac lost out to the 65 Mustang.  So the final actually looked like a run away for the Vette, but as I have said numerous times, that is why they run the race.  In the final, the Vette had a major brain malfunction off of the line, nearly stalling the engine, giving an insurmountable lead to the Mustang.  I love it when the blue ovals win!! The burn out competition was the last event on the track for the night.  A dude in a 77 or 78 Ford 3/4 ton flat bed, right off of the farm, still had pig pooh in the back, came out and won the event for the 2nd year in a row.  A couple of Volvo’s gave him a run, but the crowd cheer off went to the Ford.  2 Fords, 2 winners!
