Summit Pro-Am Double Feature Next Weekend to Follow This Weekend's Nitro Jam Blockbuster at US 131

Hot on the heels of the Torco Northern Nationals Nitro Jam event, the sportsman warriors of the Summit Pro-Am Tour have their very own weekend at US 131 Motorsports Park. Racers attending the Northern Nationals will be able to leave their rigs at the racetrack during the week to save fuel and travel expenses.

Event: 2008 Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by Mr. Gasket North Stars double race weekend event.

Where: US  131 Motorsports Park

When: Aug 8–10, 2008

What to expect: This is the third stop for the Division 3 North Stars and with this event coming on the heels of the National Event with racers being allowed to remain on the property the car count should be large. Gates will open Friday Aug 8th at 11am. Tech will be open from 1pm-9pm and there will be a Test & Tune from 3pm – 8pm. Saturday tech will open at 7:30am with 2 time trial/ qualifying sessions beginning at 9 am with eliminations immediately following 2nd session. Sunday gates open at 8:00 am with 1 time trial/qualifying session at 9:00 am and then go immediately into eliminations.

Raiser, Top Sportsman-Aaron Glaser and Gary Wojnowski, Top Dragster-Jeff Brown and Ricky Adkins.

Defending Division Champions:
Top Sportsman-Gary Wojinowski Sr., Top Dragster- Jeff Brown, Super Stock-James Fields, Stock- Aaron Allison, Quick Rod-Patrick J Forster, Super Rod-Pat Martin, Hot Rod-Damien Hazelton

Moser Engineering Axle Mania—To be eligible a racer must run a set of Moser axles and have the proper Moser Engineering decals and complete the registration form. All IHRA sportsman racers who meet the eligibility requirements will have the opportunity to qualify for a $51,000 purse, including a top prize of $22,500. The seventh edition of Moser Axle Mania will be run at the Torco Northern Nationals at Knoll Gas Motorsports Park in August of 2008.

American Race Cars Free Ride
—At each 2008 Summit Pro-Am a random driver will be selected from the tech cards at that event. If the Pro-Am is a double two drivers will be selected. The American Race Cars Free Ride winner will be pulled at random from those tech cards at the 2008 IHRA Summit Pro-Am Banquet. Two tech cards will be pulled, the first winning a Silver Card good for a free car and driver entry at each of that driver’s 2009 in-division Divisional races. The second card pulled will determine the winner of a $10,000 gift certificate good towards the purchase of a new American Race Car.

(all events are double race weekends): May 30–June 1 at Milan Dragway, July 4–6 at Mountain Park Dragway, August 8–10 at Knoll Gas Motorsports Park, August 22-24 at Grand Bend Motorplex
