There are 7 Summit Team Finals events in te next 30 days that will not only crown both team and individual championships, but will also set the field for the Summit SuperSeries World Championship held at Rockingham Dragway during the World Finals.

The Summit "Thunder" Team Finals kicks it all off this weekend at US 131 in Martin, Michigan.  Teams from Milan (defending Team Champions), Osceola, Byron, US 131, Marion County, Wisconsin International, Northern Michigan, US 41 and Gimili Motorsports Park will do battle for the championships.

The $250,000 Summit SuperSeries World Championship run-off will take place Friday September 19th, with the winner of the box and no box taking the second spots on the Summit SuperSeries world championship ladder in Rockingham.  The first spots have already been determined via the at-large drawing held last week.  The at-large box spot went to Ron Bowerman from Alaska Raceway Park and the No Box spot went to Jean Carlos Ras representing International Racetrack Aruba.

Summit Racing Equipment, the Official Mail Order Company of IHRA, sponsors a revolutionary series for the IHRA ET bracket racer at the local level.  Providing the base for the Summit SuperSeries are the more than 80 IHRA member tracks.  This program will crown a true World Champion from the ranks of the local grassroots racers at the IHRA member tracks

Each track champion will square off at the Summit Team Finals in their respective divisions. The champion of the race will earn their way into the eight-car field of finalists that will again race for the $250,000 Summit World Championship during the IHRA World Finals in Rockingham, North Carolina, October 17-19, 2008. The World Championship race, which will take place during Sunday’s final professional eliminations, will be filmed by Speed Channel and seen when the IHRA World Finals airs on Speed in the fall.
