Bigger Venue Needed to Accommodate Thunder Jam in Alabama; Alabama International Dragway to host April 4 Event

Last season the O’Reilly Auto Parts Thunder Jam event in Birmingham was a smashing success. In fact, demand came close to exceeding supply. Traffic backed up for miles and virtually every seat was taken for the explosive night, causing those who put together the Thunder Jam to re-think their approach to the booming Alabama market.

This year’s Alabama Thunder Jam has been moved to Alabama International Dragway in Steele, Alabama. It is a larger facility with more parking, more grandstands, more concessions and more pit area. It is also more accessible to major highways in Alabama.

“Our customers told us we needed more seating and parking, so we were happy to act on their advice,” Thunder Jam operations director Jim Marchyshyn said with a sly grin. “We are going to put on the biggest show Alabama has ever seen so a bigger  venue  was  essetinal. . Plus, this gives us more space to blow things up!”

The event, recently added to the 2009 O’Reilly Auto Parts Thunder Jam schedule, will be held April 4 and will kick off at 7 p.m. For tickets or to find out event details please visit www.thunderjam.com.
