What to expect:
This 4-day event is a race and vacation in one. Although designed to offer the chance to take minimal days away from home, it offers events starting Thursday. Thursday and Friday offer a Test and Tune as well as bonus racers, while Saturday and Sunday offer Pro-Am races.
This event has long stood as a more than a race weekend. With a jet and fireworks show, 7 bonus eliminators on Friday and 5 on Saturday including Heads-up Quick 8’s, the staff at Mountain park has a weekend of racing and relaxing in order.
“I’m ready for it, it’s been too long since we have kicked one of these races off, and it’s time,” Track Operator, Jerod Kennon said about the bonus races and extra entertainment.
Special Programs:
Summit All-Star Program—Season ending event where the division champions in their respective class will compete against each other for the title at the World Finals at Rockingham.

Moser Engineering Axle Mania—To be eligible a racer must run a set of Moser axles and have the proper Moser Engineering decals and complete the registration form. All IHRA sportsman racers who meet the eligibility requirements will have the opportunity to qualify for a $51,000 purse, including a top prize of $22,500. The seventh edition of Moser Axle Mania will be run at the Torco Northern Nationals at Knoll Gas Motorsports Park in August of 2008.

American Race Cars Free Ride—At each 2008 Summit Pro-Am a random driver will be selected from the tech cards at that event. If the Pro-Am is a double two drivers will be selected. The American Race Cars Free Ride winner will be pulled at random from those tech cards at the 2008 IHRA Summit Pro-Am Banquet. Two tech cards will be pulled, the first winning a Silver Card good for a free car and driver entry at each of that driver’s 2009 in-division Divisional races. The second card pulled will determine the winner of a $10,000 gift certificate good towards the purchase of a new American Race Car.
2009 Division Three Summit Pro-Am Schedule (all events are double race weekends): May 1-3 Thompson, OH; May 22-24 Martin, MI; July 3-5 Clay City, KY; Aug. 13-16 Pittsburgh, PA.
