For the first time ever, the most popular motorsports entertainment spectacle in the country is coming to Kansas City International Raceway as the track hosts the inaugural O’Reilly Auto Parts Thunder Jam presented by the U.S. Air Force and SafeAuto Saturday, August 1st at 7 p.m.

Among the numerous attractions at the inaugural Thunder Jam is the highly popular 20,000 horsepower “Super Shockwave” jet truck. The twin engine, 1957 Chevy packs quite a 1-2 punch thanks to a combination of 20 foot flames spewing out of a pair of jet engines and an earth shaking launch that leaves first-time viewers asking “did I really just see that?”

And Super Shockwave is only part of the show O’Reilly Thunder Jam has in store.

Also on hand will be the side-by-side Battle of Jet Trains between the “Chattanooga Choo Choo” and “the Cannonball Express.” Like its much larger cousin, these flame shooting rails light up the night sky with an impressive display of fire and speed unmatched in the drag racing world.

Add in the supercharged, wheelstanding “Chevy Rebellion” truck and a handful of insane 230 mile per hour Nitro Harleys and you have a night that simply can’t be missed.
