The Rocky Mountain Nationals at Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway has always been a highlight of the Nitro Jam season, and this year’s version certainly didn’t disappoint. The tradition of bringing world-class drag racing to great crowds of appreciative, enthusiastic Canadian fans was upheld once again in the Queen City.
One of the highlights of the weekend was the record-setting performance of Edmonton’s own Casey Plaizier. The 19-year-old competitor became the youngest driver to win two national event Ironman trophies in the history of the IHRA. Plaizier collected the hardware for wins in Hot Rod and Super Stock.
