Summit Team Finals “Olympics of Drag Racing” Puts a New Spin on Televisions Best Shows

Coming up with different games for the Summit Team Finals “Olympics of Drag Racing” is no easy feat. They have to be something that involves members from each track, is fun for the participants to do and is fun for their team members to watch. In the past we have made the participants race with their pants down to their ankles, race with a balloon between their knees, chase a ping pong ball with a straw, and stick their faces in whipped cream. And we always save a ‘special event’ for your track operators or team captains.
This year, IHRA will be taking some of the best loved and most popular TV games shows and reality shows and converting them into what we hope will be the best “Olympics of Drag Racing” yet.  Here is a list of the fun to come.
1. The Amazing Race – Where a team of 2 people from each track race across the United States and Canada looking for clues, solving problems, visiting tracks and having a great adventure.
2. The Newlywed Game – A married couple from each track will match wits and try to guess how their spouse will answer zany and embarrassing questions.
3. Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? – Just like the TV show, 5 people from each track with try to answer questions on different topics.  Not nearly as easy as it sounds.

4. Don’t Forget The Lyrics – 5 more people from each team will be given words from a song and will need to complete (and sing) the song for points. We have Disney songs, Hymns you should know by heart, songs you hear all the time, and even ‘kids songs’. A great time to test your musical talents.
5. America Has Talent! – At least we hope their track operators do! We always have to have one special contest just for our wonderful track operators. Each track operator will need to find his ‘one great talent’ and put it on display. They can team up with other members from their team (for the shy ones) or go it solo. They will be judged by the IHRA officials on originality, talent and fun! So dust off your dancing shoes, get out the juggling balls or limber up those vocal cords.  It’s time to put the spot light on our track operators.
