Ricky Nelson from Angleton Raceway and Jack Hughes from Red Line Raceway both clinched the bragging rights of winning the Summit SuperSeries run off at the Renegades Team Finals and will head to Rockingham Dragway to compete for the World Championship.  Hughes running in the Box Class won in the final round beating Norvell West from Ben Bruce Memorial Airpark. Nelson won the No Box Class taking a hole shot win against Gary Metcalf of Amarillo Dragtrip.
 
Nelson and Hughes will attend the IHRA Nitro Jam World Finals in Rockingham North Carolina October 20-24. Hughes will go up against Bud Finch from Oxford Plains Raceway in round one of competition and Nelson will go head to head with Ken Ludwig representing Thunder Valley Raceway.
 
Racers who finish first in their track's Summit SuperSeries points compete against other track’s point leaders at the Summit Team Finals in their division. The winner of each division’s run-off event competes for the World Championship at the World Finals, October 20-24, at Rockingham Dragway. The winner of the Box and No Box categories will receive $10,000 from Summit Racing Equipment. The runners-up in each class will win $7,000, semifinalists get $2,000 and quarterfinalists receive $1,000. Every entrant will receive $1,000 tow money when they tech in at the event.
The No Box winner will also receive a 28’ Vintage Intimidator Trailer, Custom Davis Golf Cart, Aruba vacation, banquet recognition, Diamond Championship ring, and Ironman. The Box winner will also receive a turn-key Mullis Race Car dragster, Aruba vacation, awards ceremony recognition, Diamond Championship ring, and Ironman. Racers who finish first at their local track will also receive $1,000. Other prizes will also be available.
