Monday, 20 November 2017

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Prescott Raceway is the latest track to enter into a multi-year sanctioning agreement with the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA).

The Southwest Arkansas facility features a 1/8-mile drag strip and a full schedule of racing from March through October. There are special events throughout the year including the Thanksgiving Weekend Bracket Bash scheduled for this Thursday through Sunday.

“We welcome Prescott Raceway back into the IHRA family,” IHRA division director Frank Kohutek said. “Track owner Jackie Lewis genuinely cares about his racers and we look forward to working with Prescott Raceway to provide them with the best possible experience.”

Lewis likes the IHRA’s support of its member tracks and its commitment to grassroots, Sportsman racing through programs like the IHRA Summit Racing Equipment SuperSeries, the largest and most prestigious championship in drag racing.

“I take care of my drivers the best I can,” track owner Jackie Lewis said. “I like the programs IHRA offers like the bracket finals. The drivers really like going after the Ironman and it gives them something extra special to compete for when we have a points race.”
