The tracks are located as far south as Arkansas and as far north as Alberta, Canada. This doesn’t count the record number of sanctioning agreement renewals signed by current IHRA member tracks this year.

A common theme in joining the International Hot Rod Association has been the commitment to grassroots, sportsman racing through the IHRA Summit SuperSeries as Tim Cunningham, general manager of Beacon Dragway, Paducah, Ky., explained.

“It’s a wonderful program,” Cunningham said. “IHRA is more keyed to the work all week, and then go race on the weekend type guy. Not everybody can be a John Force. We’re well pleased with our program for the bracket series.”

Mike Ledford, the promoter of Mid-Michigan Motorplex, sees the IHRA sanction and programs working well with the Motorplex’s theme of taking care of the local sportsman racers.

“Our schedule is set up around our bracket racers and that’s who we cater to,” Ledford said. “For what we’re trying to do, the IHRA and the Summit SuperSeries is a great fit for our track and our racers.”

Other tracks which have come on board include Crossville Dragway, located right off Interstate 40 in Tennessee, Prescott Raceway in Arkansas and Pat’s Auto Supply Motorsports Park, Beaverlodge, Alberta, Canada, which is run by the North Peace Bracket Racing Association.
