“It isn’t often that we get an opportunity to sanction a facility that has never been sanctioned by IHRA before in the history of the track and we are honored that the facility has chosen IHRA to deliver first class sportsman racing programs to its racers,” said IHRA Division 4, 6 & 7 Director Frank Kohutek.  “Music City will be a great addition to the IHRA member track family, and we look forward to hosting their racers at the IHRA Summit Team Finals and Summit SuperSeries World Finals.”

With the addition of Music City to the IHRA family of member tracks, the IHRA is now the choice of every sanctioned drag strip in Tennessee except Bristol.  Music City Raceway, located in Goodlettsville, Tenn., sits a short 30-minute drive from Nashville, Tenn. The track opened in 1958 and was initially known as Union Hill Raceway or “The Hill” by racers and fans for the first 25 years. Music City Raceway is currently owned and operated by Rick and Charlotte Gonzalez along with Dallas and Alfreda Jones.
