It’s a day we celebrate the hard-working people throughout America. Nothing exemplifies that more than the IHRA racers, track operators and their staff. They often work hard at jobs throughout the week and then spend long hours at the track over the weekend.

SALEM, OH — Quaker City Motorsports Park is set to host the 2024 International Hot Rod Association Division 3 (North Stars) Summit Team Finals on September 19-21.

The home track will be looking to win its third straight IHRA Division 3 Summit Team Finals championship. Quaker City edged Muncie Dragway by a single point to earn last year’s title. 

ALBANY, IN — The excitement of the IHRA Ironman Classic is coming to a couple of great race tracks in Indiana and Iowa this weekend.

Muncie Dragway hopes to get a break from the weather with their rescheduled race for Saturday. Humboldt County Dragway has the Ironman Classic on Sunday. Both Ironman races are part of huge Labor Day weekend events at the Midwest tracks.

ETHRIDGE, TN — Chris Gray, David Bell, Axle Higgins and Hope Capley were IHRA Ironman Summer Madness winners last Saturday at Ethridge Motorsports Park.

In addition to winning the IHRA Ironman trophies, it was the final season points race for all classes.

MOROCCO, IN — The IHRA Division 5 (Thunder) Summit Team Finals are less than a month away at US41 Dragstrip on September 19-21, 2024.

US41 racers look to defend their Division 5 title on the home track. In preparation for this and other events, the Indiana facility underwent major upgrades earlier this year including a milling of the entire quarter-mile to make the track as flat and smooth as possible. They created one of the nicest racing surfaces in the country. 

DYERSBURG, TN — Four racers scored IHRA Sportsman Spectacular presented by Moser Engineering wins at River Road Raceway, while five others earned IHRA Summit SuperSeries points championships.

Scottie Privett (Box), Chris Strange (No Box), Billy Foster Sr. (Street) and Maddox Lockhart (Junior Dragster) earned the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophies, sought-after big checks and commemorate medals for their victories.

MARION, SD — Thunder Valley Dragways captured its first-ever IHRA Division 6 (Midwest) Summit Team Finals championship on Saturday night.

Racing at their home track, Thunder Valley’s Team 1 raced to a 64-55 win over Humboldt Dragway Team 2. Thunder Valley’s Team 2 was right behind with 54 points, followed by Humboldt Team 1 with 22 points.

PARKER, SD — It was time to double up Friday at the IHRA Division 6 (Midwest) Summit Team Finals at Thunder Valley Dragways.

There were two Gamblers races, along with tow-rig, track operators races and best appearing awards presented at the South Dakota drag strip. Paul Sanders took the doubling up literally, winning both No Box races.

MARION, SD — Thunder Valley Dragways drivers used their home track knowledge to sweep Thursday Gamblers races at the IHRA Division 6 (Midwest) Summit Team Finals.

Dustin Medenwald (Box), JR Ward (No Box) and Ashton Tilberg (Junior Dragster) captured the opening-night victories on the track which had a major renovation to the racing surface in May.

HOLLAND, TX — The IHRA Division 4 Junior Team Finals presented Vision Industrial Services comes to Little River Dragway on Aug. 31-Sept. 1.

Saturday’s slate includes Index, Bracket 330 and Trophy races. It’s a $450 winner’s purse for the Index and Bracket 330 races with no age limit on the Bracket 330. The Trophy race is for ages 6-8.
