Rocky Mountain Nationals Track Renamed Castrol Raceway
EDMONTON – April 20, 2006 - After 5 years of being known as Budweiser Motorsports Park, owners Rob Reeves and Ron Hodgson are proud to announce the signing of Castrol as the new Title Sponsor of the facility. The track’s new name is Castrol Raceway. The deal is for 5 years with an option for another 5 years extending the strength of the new relationship to 2016.
Budweiser and Labatt Breweries of Canada have been great supporters of the facility over the past 8 years, and have continued their support of the track by signing a new three year sponsorship.
BP Castrol is the world leader in motor oil and petroleum products and has been a great supporter of Motorsports world wide sponsoring F1, World Super Bike, Moto G.P., John Force Race Team, CASCAR and is the founding sponsor of the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame. Robert Skaggs, Wakefield/Castrol Territory Sales Manager for Northern Alberta says that, “Castrol is excited to be part of this new endeavor. With over 100 plus years of Motorsports Heritage we see this as a perfect fit and a great opportunity to partner with a world class Racing Facility.”
Castrol Raceway Director of Sales and Marketing, Art Eden, see this new relationship as a unique opportunity, “As the only Castrol named Racing Facility in the World, we will set the precedent by which all others that follow will be modeled.”
Castrol Raceway is a multi-discipline motorsport facility hosting over 70 events annually before 150,000 excited spectators. It has a ¼ Mile IHRA Drag Strip, a 3/8 Mile Clay Oval, a 10 Acre Motocross Track and a Legends Cars of Alberta Racing Facility as well as a developing Road Course schedule for completion in 2007.
