IHRA Funny Car Racer "Bullet Bob" Floch Passes Away

FOWLER - Robert Thomas "Bullet Bob" Floch, 71, of Fowler Township, passed away Tuesday night, Oct. 27, 2015, at Sharon Regional Health System.

He was born May 30, 1944, in Warren, the son of Harold and Amy Grace Mott Floch.

Robert was a 1962 graduate of Badger High School in Kinsman and attended Kent State University.

He retired as the self-employed owner-operator truck driver of "Bobcat Trucking."

He was a member of the Vernon United Methodist Church.

Robert enjoyed drag racing as a driver "Bullet Bob." He belonged to the IHRA, NHRA and DRAW; organized the Mid America Funny Car Circuit; and currently owned "Bullet Bob," an AA / FA replica 1929 Dodge.

He is survived by his wife, Cathie Tupper Floch, whom he married Oct. 15, 1976; two sons, Joseph (Judy) Floch of Breckenridge, Colo., and Paul Yoe of Aurora; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Floch, in 1991.

Friends and relatives may call 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the funeral home. It will be officiated by Pastor Joel Dickson, pastor of the Fowler Community Church. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery in Vernon.
