IHRA Division Director Frank Kohutek wins Super Comp at U.S. Nationals

Tuesday, 03 September 2013
The International Hot Rod Association would like to congratulate IHRA Division Director Frank Kohutek for his win in Super Comp at the U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway over the weekend.

Kohutek survived seven grueling rounds of competition in the 8.90-index class driving the CBS ArcSafe dragster owned by Tommy Phillips. Kohutek had wins over Neely, Jeff Beckman, Brian Hackett, Troy Coughlin Jr., Brina Splingaire and Kyle Cultrera before meeting Troy Stone in the final.

In the final Stone lit the red light by -0.008 seconds, but it would have mattered little as Kohutek put together a .008 package with a .006 light and an 8.902 run at 165.92 miles per hour. It is Kohutek’s ninth career win. He also won the 1999 Super Comp championship.

Kohutek is the Division Director for IHRA Divisions 2 and 4.

Congratulations to Frank on a job well done!
