Comments heard from the Summit Tournament of Champions Winner’s Circle included Patrick Forster thanking the Elrod family for making him a part of the team and also congratulating Dave Elrod for earning the Sportsman of the Year award. Doug Lynden, the IHRA 2015 Super Rod Champion commented in the winner’s circle that he had added some time to his delay box for the finals due to the pure excitement and it paid off with his .026 reaction time which helped him to the victory over Nick Akoury’s .030 reaction time. Junior Dragster champ, Kassie Thomas, explained to Clay Millican as he interviewed her in the winner’s circle that she was not nervous going into the final round for the championship because her parents just told her that they were proud of her, no matter the outcome.
