Multiple Racers Win Round Prizes During IHRA Summit Sportsman Spectacular at Darlington

HARTSVILLE, S.C. — Thanks to the support of the International Hot Rod Association’s great partners, multiple drivers came away winners at the IHRA Summit Sportsman Spectacular event at Darlington (S.C.) Dragway on Memorial Day weekend.

Beyond the big prizes for those who advanced the furthest in eliminations, there were round prizes awarded for the best losing packages of the first three rounds.

 

Top racer Donald Bean has a new Summit Racing Equipment 10x20 tent to provide shade and protection from the elements after the first round of Saturday’s race. Pressley Rollins in No Box was the recipient of a $100 Sunoco fuel card, while Junior racer Anna Cranfield picked up a Summit 10x10 tent.

 

Taylor Hollin got the American Race Cars $250 gift certificate for the Top division in round two. Kaden Jenkins in No Box received an Abruzzi Transmissions $400 certificate towards the purchase of an 8-inch or 9-inch converter. Carson Hoyle won a Summit Racing Equipment car cover for his Junior Dragster.

 

With round 3, the “Moser Money Round,” Terry Strickland in the Top division received both a Moser $500 certificate and another $200 certificate from Jones Transmission Cooling Systems.

 

No Box racer Ernie Humes also picked up a “Moser Money Round” $500 certificate, while Will Dotson received the “Moser Money Round” $250 certificate for Junior Dragster.

 

There were more winners in the second race of the weekend starting with Floyd Edick, who got a new 5-layer, Summit Racing Equipment fire jacket after the end of round one. Terry Strickland in No Box earned another round prize in the form of a single-layer Summit fire jacket. Will Dotson was again in the mix, awarded re-entry into eliminations through Summit Racing Equipment.

 

Kevin Crawford in the Top division received a $250 American Race Cars gift certificate in round 2. No Box racer Kevin Blevins picked up a $100 Sunoco fuel card. Anna Canfield was presented a single-layer Summit fire jacket for the Junior division.

 

Round 3 winners included Shane Maddox in Top who received an Abruzzi Transmissions certificate for 10 percent off and a $200 Jones Transmissions Cooling System certificate. No Box racer Pressley Rollins picked up his new Summit Racing Equipment 10 x 20 tent. Harrison Crawford completed the round-prize winners with a Summit Racing Equipment Junior Dragster cockpit cover.
