Imagine That Customs proudly selected to provide design for 2013 Summit SuperSeries prize dragster

Tuesday, 05 March 2013
The International Hot Rod Association is pleased to announce that Imagine That Customs, based in Hughesville, Md., has been named the official design provider for the 2013 Summit Racing Equipment SuperSeries Trick Flow prize dragsters awarded to the winner of the Top and Junior Dragster World Championships at the Summit World Finals in October.

Founded in 2006 by longtime artist Jerron Settles, Imagine That Customs provides award-winning designs for dragsters, door cars, roadsters, junior dragsters, golf carts and other racing and non-racing applications. A racer himself, Settles has dedicated his business to providing top-quality designs for racers throughout North American and looks forward to providing the design that will be featured on the prestigious Summit SuperSeries and Junior Summit SuperSeries Trick Flow-branded prize dragsters throughout the next year.

“I wanted to be involved with the SuperSeries build because it’s a program that shows IHRA’s commitment to the grassroots racer. IHRA’s support of the sportsman level racer is unrivaled and that to me is important in this day and age when so many racers leave an event unhappy with the way they were treated,” Settles said. “This build has a cool factor for me because it allows me the chance to just have fun with it. It is also a great opportunity to be partnered with other great companies that show the same commitment and pride in their product.”

Settles began painting helmets in 2003 as a side project when not racing in IHRA and NHRA competition in Top Dragster and Quick Rod competition. After a few years of perfecting the craft, Settles opened Imagine That Customs with partner E.J. Parker in 2006 and has turned it into a fulltime business designing upwards of 30-40 dragsters a year in addition to various other racecars and side projects.

Today Settles’ designs can be seen on a virtual “who’s who” list of the world’s big money and sportsman drag racing champions.

“Our paint has won numerous Best Appearing awards at IHRA and NHRA events. I personally come from a deep racing background as my father raced in local bracket races and in Hot Rod for years in addition to my own racing career,” Settles said. “Unfortunately I have had to scale back on my racing recently due to the demands of my business. I feel that those deep ties to the sport and the fact that we are hardcore racers ourselves helps us understand fully what racers want and need in a paint job.”

This season the winner of the Top category at the Summit SuperSeries World Championship presented by AMSOIL at Memphis International Raceway will become the proud owner of a ready-to-race dragster from Maddox Race Cars featuring a unique design by Imagine That Customs.

It is the richest prize in grassroots racing today and it is proudly brought to IHRA sportsman racers by Summit Racing Equipment, AMSOIL and Imagine That Customs.
