“I run just about every weekend with few weekends off,” said Wied, the 2010 track champion at Wisconsin International Raceway. “In one of our last races of the year I actually had to miss my son’s first birthday party. Thankfully, though, it worked out as I went on to win the race! The great thing is that it is truly a family tradition. My brothers race, my sister and I both race, I have nephews that run Juniors. It is really a family deal. Honestly the only time I really didn’t race was when I was pregnant.

“I am excited to be named the winner of this award. It is always exciting and the goal of every racer to run a perfect package and it is great organization’s like the IHRA that recognize great accomplishments like this.”

Created in 2012, Polburn’s Perfect Package Prize rewards IHRA sportsman drag racers who record a perfect package – in other words a perfect reaction time and dial – at an IHRA-sanctioned facility. Throughout the year dozens of racers from across the country submitted their perfect run time slips and verification and Wied was selected as this year’s winner. She will receive one year free IHRA membership, one car and driver entry to any IHRA Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series event and over $200 worth of IHRA merchandise.
