Highlighting Thunder Jam’s return to the Southside, W.Va. track located just outside of the cities of Huntington and Charleston will be the debut of the legendary Grave Digger drag racing monster truck starring Monster Jam World Champion Randy Brown battling the 10,000 horsepower “Spirit of Alabama” jet dragster. The show will also feature the world famous Chevy Rebellion wheelstander, the tri-states best racers and baddest hot rods competing in the International Hot Rod Association’s Ironman Classic and plenty of great family activities all for one night only June 9 at Kanawha Valley Motorsports Park.
“There is quite a history with Kanawha Valley and over the years Thunder Jam has provided many of those wild and exciting moments. With that said, we couldn’t be more excited to be returning to the West Virginia’s premier racing facility in June with an incredible night of entertainment,” said Jim Marchyshyn, Thunder Jam Operations Manager. “This will be the first time Grave Digger, the world’s most famous race vehicle, has ever been to the area and that is not lost on Randy. He has assured me that his race against the ‘Spirit of Alabama’ jet dragster will be one of the most exciting races West Virginia fans have ever seen.
“Throw in one of the most exciting wheelstanders in the country and an incredible night of racing featuring many of best racers in the area competing for the coveted Ironman trophy in front of a huge crowd will make this night unforgettable.”
Tickets for the June 9 Kanawha Valley Thunder Jam start at just $20 and kids 12 and under get in for just $5 with a discount coupon. Those tickets not only include a chance to see the show, but grants fans free access to the ThunderFest Pit Party where they can meet the drivers and get autographs including a chance to meet Grave Digger pilot Randy Brown and have your picture taken with the towering Grave Digger monster truck. Showtime is 7 p.m. and the ThunderFest Pit Party kicks off at 6 p.m.
