Beacon Dragway

PADUCAH, Ky. — Racers at Beacon Dragway have to look no further than last season to see the fantastic opportunities presented by the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular, which is coming up August 23 at the Western Kentucky drag strip.

Isaac Fulcher, the 2023 track champion in Top (Box), Justin Minton in Mod (No Box), Chad Eaton (Sportsman), Kasey Chandler (Junior Dragster) and Jessie Grooms (Teen Street) all raced to wins at last year’s IHRA Sportsman Spectacular at Beacon to qualify for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.

Minton took it several steps further. He went on to win the IHRA Mod (No Box) World Championship, beating Xtreme Raceway Park hotshoe Jake Howard in the final round.

Minton took advantage of Howard being just -.003 too quick at the tree. With the race in hand after a .069 reaction time, Minton cruised down the strip with a 7.642-second run at 61.58 mph for a $20,000 victory.

The potential payouts are even bigger at the 2025 IHRA SuperSeries World Finals under IHRA Owner Darryl Cuttell.

But first, you have to get there. The IHRA Sportsman Spectacular is the quickest way for a racer to qualify for the World Finals. It is required that you MUST be an IHRA member to qualify for the most prestigious national championship in bracket racing.

Becoming an IHRA member is easy. Click here to get your license to become an IHRA member. Don’t miss out on this or other great races are coming up at Beacon Dragway. They include the Beacon Top Bulb Bogo Bash on Aug. 29-31 with $10,000-to-win races both Saturday and Sunday.
