Submitted by tylers on Fri, 05/23/2025 - 09:40 UNION GROVE, Wisc. — It’s midway through May and Great Lakes Dragaway has already gotten through six IHRA Summit SuperSeries points races. Despite being in the upper Midwest, the nation’s oldest continually operating purpose-built drag strip has been able to overcome the cooler weather of the last month. Last Saturday’s action featured Bailey Pichette being both the Mod ET and Combo race winner. Bryce Londerville topped the field In the Top ET class. Javier Pando was Saturday’s Street winner with Don DeBarere the runner-up. Tom Ewig emerged victorious from the Bike/Sled class, while Hailee Huss was the Junior Dragster winner with Dennis Schroeder her final-round opponent. More great racing was on tap Big Check Sunday with Tony Zimmerman taking the Top ET and Combo victories. Ed Curtis was the winner in Mod ET with “Grandpa” Dale Londerville racing to the Street win. Tom Bixler was triumphant in the Bike/Sled class with Dan McCarten also making it to the final round. Brody Degnitz took the Junior Dragster win over Ashley Antonioni. The action heats up along with the weather. Great Lakes Dragaway is scheduled to host the IHRA Ironman Classic on June 22. Other great racing is coming up.
