The Dallas-area track is home to the last two IHRA Summit SuperSeries Top (Box) World Champions. It routinely has huge turnouts to its bracket racing events. That was the case last weekend when the list of heavy hitters was quite impressive. Scooter Hamlin parked his familiar green and black Chevelle in the winner’s circle by beating Crue Garrett in the Super Pro Green final. Garrett was also the runner-up in the Quality 1st Super Pro final with Cameron Green racing to the victory. Graeme Rufenacht has gone from being one of the top junior racers in the country to a force in the big cars, or in his case, his Chevy S-10 pickup. He defeated the 2024 IHRA Mod World Runner-Up Jake Howard in the Pro Blue final. Rufenacht also made the final round in Pro where he finished second to Chad Sandlin. Marty Goss raced to the Sportsman victory with Andrea Ruffin the runner-up. David Puckett was the Dent Eraser Motorcycle winner with Manolo Gonzalez his final-round opponent. Cooper Vazquez led the field in the J. Morton Junior Dragster class with Hunter Holmes making it to the final round. In the Diva’s Daily Drivers, Ashley Ayala won the final over Brandi Boner. The event also featured a pair of Friday Gamblers races. Jackie Jones was the winner over Chad Hankins in the combined bracket and Karmin Nelson won the Junior All Run with Haven Ayala runner-up. Big money is on the line this weekend with the Pennington Brothers SuperBucks Showdown. It is highlighted by $15,000-to-win Super Pro races.
