Submitted by IHRA1 on Thu, 08/21/2025 - 14:56 HUMBOLDT, Iowa — The International Hot Rod Association Division 6 (Midwest) Team Finals kicked off today at Humboldt County Dragway on August 21-23. Humboldt County Dragway has a history that dates back to 1963 with the track operating under names like Iowa Dragway, Western Dragway and North Iowa Dragway. That history includes a much-publicized, best-of-three match race between Don “The Snake” Prudhomme and Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen. Track owner Tom Monson literally grew up at the track and saw his father race a Mach 1 there. Each region hosts a Team Finals for every division. Races will compete in five classes — Top (Box), Mod (No Box), Sportsman, Motorcycle and Junior Dragster. Teams from Humboldt County Dragway and Interlake Dragway will compete for Division 6 titles. Through the IHRA Team Finals, a racer can win a 2025 Team Finals main event championship in his or her division and become eligible for the IHRA SuperSeries World Finals at Alabama International Dragway, October 16-18. You can compete for an individual division title in your class and help your track compete for the team championship. However, if you are not an IHRA member, you will not be eligible to qualify for the IHRA Summit World Finals through the IHRA Team Finals. Midwest Team Finals champions from 2024 were: Brian Wood (Top), Colton Bierle (Mod), Wade Lardy (Sportsman), Mike Robbins (Motorcycle) and Kaden Crawford (Junior).
