IHRA Pro Stock to Replace Factory Stock Showdown (F.S.S.) Beginning in 2026

FAIRFIELD, OH — January 29, 2026 — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) announced today that IHRA Pro Stock will officially replace the Factory Stock Showdown (F.S.S.) category beginning with the 2026 season. The IHRA Pro Stock class will feature factory-built, supercharged platforms, including the Chevrolet COPO Camaro, Dodge Drag Pack, and Ford Mustang Cobra Jet.

IHRA leadership views this move as a natural progression and strengthening of professional drag racing within the organization, aligning with the association’s long-term vision for growth, competitiveness, and national relevance. The class has been built to preserve factory identity while delivering a high-performance, fan-focused racing product.

Series Integration & Championship Opportunities

IHRA Pro Stock will compete in both of IHRA’s premier championship platforms:

  • IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series
  • IHRA Triple Crown Series

This integration provides racers with multiple opportunities for exposure, championship contention, and substantial financial incentives.

2026 IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series Schedule

  • March 19–21 — Darana Motorsports Park | Benson, NC
  • April 9–11 — Virginia Motorsports Park | Dinwiddie, VA
  • May 7–9 — Montgomery International Dragway | Montgomery, AL
  • July 9–11 — Milan–Darana Dragway | Milan, MI
  • July 23–25 — Empire Dragway | Leicester, NY
  • August 13–15 — Darana Dragway 42 | West Salem, OH
  • October 8–10 — Darana – Heartland Motorsports Park | Topeka, KS
  • October 22–24 — IHRA World Finals | Location TBA

The IHRA Triple Crown Series will feature three marquee events:

  • Darana-Maple Grove Raceway
  • Darana- National Trail Raceway
  • Darana- Memphis Motorsports Park

Sweep all three events to earn a $1,000,000 BONUS.

Pro Stock Payout Structure

Outlaw Nitro Series — Per Event

  • Winner: $10,000
  • Runner-Up: $5,000
  • Semi-Finalists: $2,500
  • Quarter-Finalists: $1,000

Outlaw Nitro Series — Championship Payout

  • Champion: $25,000
  • Runner-Up: $10,000
  • Third Place: $5,000

IHRA Triple Crown — Per Event

  • Winner: $20,000
  • Runner-Up: $10,000
  • Semi-Finalists: $5,000
  • Quarter-Finalists: $2,500
  • First Round: $1,000

Triple Crown Bonus:
Win all three events → $1,000,000

Racer-First Experience: The IHRA Standard

IHRA continues to deliver a racer-focused event experience, including:

  • Complimentary crew member passes per class
  • Free ice both days
  • Complimentary dinner Thursday & Friday nights

Race Weekend Format

  • Thursday: Parking & Setup
  • Friday: Qualifying
  • Saturday: Eliminations
  • Sunday: Travel Day / Rain Date

Entry Fee: $300 per Pro Stock entry

  • All blowers and pulleys will be inspected
