IHRA F1 Powerboat Series Expands 2026 Schedule with Sheboygan and Miami World Championship Events
The IHRA F1 Powerboat Series continues to build momentum for 2026 with the addition of two major events to its inaugural schedule — bringing Formula 1 tunnel boat racing to both the Midwest and one of the sport’s most iconic international stages.
The series will officially add the Midwest Challenge in Sheboygan, taking place August 7–9, 2026, where Formula 1 boats will compete alongside Offshore and PWC competition.
Later in the season, the IHRA F1 Powerboat Series will head to Miami for the newly announced Miami World Powerboat Grand Prix, scheduled for October 20–25, 2026. The event will feature Formula 1, Formula Light, and Tri Hull competition as part of a historic multi-discipline championship week.
Announced recently by the IHRA, the Miami World Powerboat Grand Prix marks a defining moment for the sport, uniting Offshore, F1, Drag Boats, and elite PWC racing under one championship platform for the first time.
The event will crown the first-ever IHRA World Powerboating Champions and establish a new global benchmark for professional powerboat racing.
Set against the backdrop of the historic Miami Marine Stadium and the waters of Biscayne Bay, the Miami World Powerboat Grand Prix will create a multi-venue championship experience unlike anything seen in modern powerboat racing.
The additions further strengthen IHRA’s vision of creating a unified and professionally driven powerboating platform spanning multiple disciplines and premier destinations across North America.
