Clapp, Greene, Daniels, Capley are IHRA Sportsman Spectacular Winners at Beacon Dragway

PADUACH, Ky. — Four racers scored wins in the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular last Saturday at Beacon Dragway, while champions were crowned in different classes.

With a large turnout of racers, Kyle Clapp (Top), Jock Greene (Mod), Toby Daniels (Sportsman) and Hope Capley (Junior Dragster) took home big checks and special IHRA Ironman trophies for their Sportsman Spectacular victories.

Humboldt County Dragway Captures IHRA Division 6 (Midwest) Title

HUMBOLDT, Iowa — Humboldt County Dragway racers captured the IHRA Division 6 (Midwest) title Saturday on the home track.

Individual champions were also crowned at the western Iowa drag strip, with drivers picking up specially-designed IHRA Ironman trophies.

Music City Racers Make Winning Tunes in IHRA SuperSeries

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. — Four competitors made the winning tunes to their racing machines last Saturday at the IHRA SuperSeries event at Music City Raceway.

Daniel Gray took the win in the Top (Box) final with a terrific .006 reaction time paired with a 5.872-second pass at 109.19 mph. Runner-up Tyler McMillan made it down the drag strip in 6.232 seconds at 108.18 mph after a .023 start.

HUMBOLDT, Iowa — The International Hot Rod Association Division 6 (Midwest) Team Finals kicked off today at Humboldt County Dragway on August 21-23.

Humboldt County Dragway has a history that dates back to 1963 with the track operating under names like Iowa Dragway, Western Dragway and North Iowa Dragway. That history includes a much-publicized, best-of-three match race between Don “The Snake” Prudhomme and Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen. Track owner Tom Monson literally grew up at the track and saw his father race a Mach 1 there.

PADUCAH, Ky. — Racers at Beacon Dragway have to look no further than last season to see the fantastic opportunities presented by the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular, which is coming up August 23 at the Western Kentucky drag strip.

Isaac Fulcher, the 2023 track champion in Top (Box), Justin Minton in Mod (No Box), Chad Eaton (Sportsman), Kasey Chandler (Junior Dragster) and Jessie Grooms (Teen Street) all raced to wins at last year’s IHRA Sportsman Spectacular at Beacon to qualify for the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.

Dillon Voss Scores First Mountain Motor Pro Stock Victory in Emotional Win at Darana Dragway - Milan

Dillon Voss’s first Mountain Motor Pro Stock victory at the IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals wasn’t just a milestone in his racing career - it was a win that carried deep personal meaning.

“We ran up here two weeks ago, so we knew we had a good car,” Voss said. “I drove great all weekend, drove great last weekend, and we just were able to put all the pieces together this time and continue our string of good runs. I think we’ve made 15 or 16 runs - we haven’t had an aborted run yet.”
