Image × FAIRFIELD, Ohio — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) will spotlight Fuel Altereds during the upcoming IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series event at Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio. The debut will feature eight invited Fuel Altereds - period-inspired, short-wheelbase machines that helped write drag racing’s early chapters - brought forward for today’s fans. Two qualifying sessions will set the eight-car field. “We look forward to working with the organization and can't wait to join the IHRA with this new class,” said Paul Miller of the Oliver & Miller AA/Fuel Altered team. “Fuel Altereds are a living piece of the sport - big power, short wheelbase, and nothing cookie-cutter about them,” said Doug Foley, IHRA Vice President.“Bringing this class to Dragway 42 lets fans experience the attitude and ingenuity that helped shape drag racing, up close and on the track.” The Fuel Altered qualifying runs are scheduled for Friday, and eliminations will begin on Saturday, integrated with the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series program. Fuel Altered entries will be announced leading up to the event. Fans can expect multiple appearances across the weekend, with on-track sessions and a cacklefest in the pits. Tickets are available now at IHRA.com/tickets. If fans aren’t able to attend in person, they can catch all of the action on IHRA.tv and SPEED SPORT 1.
