ALBANY, Ind. — Hear the rumble as the International Hot Rod Association Division 5 (Thunder) Team Finals invade Muncie Dragway on Sept. 3-6.

The historic Indiana track, opened on Easter Sunday, 1960, has been going strong for decades. Former IHRA President Ted Jones once owned the facility. Current owners Scott and Dawn Daniels go the extra mile in making sure racers feel welcomed at their venue.

IHRA Division 5 tracks are: Bunker Hill Drag Strip, Great Lakes Dragaway, Kil-Kare Dragway, Midstate Dragway, Muncie Dragway, US 41 Dragway, Wisconsin International Raceway and Kentucky Dragway.

Each region hosts a Team Finals for every division. Races will compete in five classes — Top (Box), Mod (No Box), Sportsman, Motorcycle and Junior Dragster.

Through the IHRA Team Finals, a racer can win a 2025 Team Finals main event championship in his or her division and become eligible for the IHRA SuperSeries World Finals at Alabama International Dragway, October 16-18.

Every participant must be an IHRA member to compete at this event.

Muncie Dragway is the defending Division 5 champion, with Wisconsin International Raceway as last year’s runner-up. Division 5 individual champions from 2024 were: TJ Trench (Top), Greg Dillman (Mod), Jimmy Barrett (Sportsman), Thomas Bixler (Motorcycle) and Owen Zwetow (Junior Dragster).
