Image × HARVEST, Ala. — Rocket City Dragway is the site of the IHRA Division 8 (South) Team Finals this weekend, Oct. 2-4. It will wrap up IHRA Team Finals for the season with the IHRA SuperSeries World Finals just two weeks later. The former Huntsville Dragway has a long history with the International Hot Rod Association. It hosted the IHRA Bama Nitrous Nationals in 1992 and 1993. The facility often served as a test track for Pro Mod legend and IHRA Hall of Famer Shannon Jenkins. Recent upgrades have made it one of the top drag racing facilities in the nation. Participating tracks in the IHRA Division 8 Team Finals are: Alabama International Dragway, Knoxville Dragway and Rocket City Dragway. Each region hosts a Team Finals for every division. Races will compete in six classes — Top (Box), Mod (No Box), Sportsman, Motorcycle, TCR and Junior Dragster. Through the IHRA Team Finals, a racer can win a 2025 Team Finals main event championship in his or her division and become eligible for the IHRA SuperSeries World Finals at Alabama International Dragway, October 16-18. Knoxville Dragway won the Division 8 team championship in 2024. Steve Breeden (Top), Chris Blair (Mod), Chester Lay (Sportsman), Corey Lee (Motorcycle) and CJ Handy (Jr. Dragster) won the individual titles.
