Quaker City Motorsports Park Wins Fourth Straight IHRA Division 3 Team Title

SALEM, Ohio — Quaker City Motorsports Park earned its fourth straight IHRA Division 3 (North Stars) Team Finals title on Saturday night.

The home track team outdistanced runner-up Dragway 42 by a 67-53 margin to be division champions once again. Darana Raceway – Hebron was third with 51 points. Darana Dragway – Milan and Kuhnle Motorsports Park rounded out the team standings.

Six racers earned individual championships. They were Bob Bastain in the Top (Box) class, Justin Fury in the Mod (No Box) class, Braxon Sukosd (Sportsman), Tony Despenes (Motorcycle), Olivia Sukosd (Junior Dragster) and Wyatt Waddle (TCR).

Bastain beat Josh Wirth in the Top final to earn the special IHRA Ironman trophy and a big $6,000 winner’s check. Fury delivered a knockout punch to the Mod (No Box) class with Jacob Pataki taking runner-up honors.

Sportsman saw Braxton Sukosd take the win with Pataki making it to the final round in a second class. Despenes was the best on two wheels with the Motorcycle victory. Tom Hann was runner-up on the bikes.

The Sukosd family doubled up with Olivial Sukosd taking the win in Junior Dragster. Killian Hamilton reached the final round. Wyatt Waddle captured the TCR victory as Jackson Masters was the final-round opponent.

RUN 4 MONEY
Five racers earned Run 4 Money victories: Christopher Hess (Top), Dave Mullins (Mod), Jerry Coblentz (Sportsman), Jeff Dennis (Motorcycle) and Sophia Montgomery (Junior Dragster).
