Seven Win in Postponed IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series Pro-Am Races

HEBRON, Ohio — Seven drivers were able to find it worth the wait as the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series Pro-Am races postponed from Thursday were completed late Sunday at Darana Raceway - Hebron.

Top Dragster featured Chris Stine taking the win after Gary Williams was a slight -.002 too quick at the tree. Although Stine had the race in hand at that point, he powered ahead to a 3.99-second pass at 179.93 mph.

Bill Yates ruled the Top Sportsman class with a 4.255-second run at 166.42 mph on a 4.25 dial. Jeremy Bargo went 4.544 seconds at 151.67 mph on a 4.52 dial. Yates had the better reaction time, .016 to .047 as well.

Jason Hartig went to the winners circle in Quick Rod with an 8.911-second pass at 169.17 mph on an 8.90 Index. Pat Martin broke out, going 8.896 seconds at 177.37 mph in the final round. Hartig also had a great reaction time .005 to Martin’s .094 at the tree.

Paul Richardson took the Super Rod win in his blue Camaro roadster when Rich Pica got too anxious at the tree. Richardson posted a time at 9.899 seconds at 179.52 mph. Pica’s quick start cost him the win as he went 9.950 seconds and 147.88 mph.

Bargo made two final rounds, taking the victory in Hot Rod as he and Larry Paden each went 10.919 on the 10.90 Index. Bargo had the better speed, 146.06 mph to 134.93 for Paden, and also had a .013 to .021 advantage at the tree.

Matt Obertanec was the Super Stock winner in a double breakout. He ended up with an 8.91 elapsed time at 145.58 mph. Andy Kroneubitter finished runner-up with a 9.51-second pass at 134.41 mph.

The McCormack Motorsports team had a .002 start in Stock and then eased down the track in 14.61 seconds at 59.08 mph in his Dodge pickup for the win. His final-round opponent, Steve Tucholsky, red-lighted by just -.009 second, which disqualified a 10.75-second and 109.94 mph pass.
