UNION, S.C. — Racers from the Carolinas and Virginia will converge on Union County Dragway this weekend for the IHRA Division 9 (Raiders) Team Finals.

The South Carolina facility was named the IHRA Division 9 Track of the Year in 2021 and has signed a multi-year agreement as an IHRA partner track. It’s recognized throughout the Southeast as a premier 1/8-mile drag strip.

Participating Division 9 tracks are: Union County Dragway, Shadyside Dragway, Roxboro Motorsports Park, Pageland Dragway and Elk Creek Dragway.

The IHRA Team Finals are the most popular races of the year, where the on-track action is only part of the fun. IHRA members have long commented about the fellowship and how racing for the home track makes each of the Team Finals an incredible experience.

Each region hosts a Team Finals for every division. Races will compete in five classes — Top (Box), Mod (No Box), Sportsman, Motorcycle and Junior Dragster.

Through the IHRA Team Finals, a racer can win a 2025 Team Finals main event championship in his or her division and become eligible for the IHRA SuperSeries World Finals at Alabama International Dragway, October 16-18.

Division 9 individual champions in 2024 were: Adam Keir (Top), Staten Nichols (Mod), Trey Sikes (Sportsman), Todd Payne (Motorcycle) and Rylan Williams (Jr. Dragster).
