Steven is a 3rd generation racer, the son of former NASCAR All-Pro Driver, Cecil Chunn, and grandson of long-time fabricator and crewman for Darrell Waltrip and Mike Alexander, Jerry "Sherman" Chunn. Steven owns a CNC Machine Shop and began racing in 2020. His primary IHRA car is an entirely homebuilt chassis and is identified by the nickname FIREBALL, given to him by his maternal grandfather. His back up chassis is LEROY (the nickname given Steven by his grandfather, Sherman), a 2003 Lefthander. LEROY is a year older than Steven and was previously driven in All Pro and two Snowball Derbies by Cecil. Steven is proud to represent Allied Bearings and Supply Nashville, NAPA Auto Parts, Dixie Diesel and Gateway Tire and Service Center Cool Springs.
