Curt Smith Jr. is a third-generation drag racer proudly continuing the legacy of Curtis Smith Racing. He follows in the footsteps of his father, Curtis Smith, the 1996 IHRA Stock Eliminator World Champion, and his grandfather, Earl Smith, a multiple-time IHRA National Event winner and multi-time Top 10 IHRA points finisher. Growing up around the sport, Curt developed a passion for drag racing early and has carried on the family tradition in sportsman competition. Competing primarily in Stock Eliminator, Curt has built a reputation as a consistent and competitive driver across the Southeast. He is a three-time Carolina Class Racers Association event winner, highlighted by double-up victories at Darlington Dragway, demonstrating both versatility and strong on-track performance. In 2023, Curt gained national attention when he was featured in Drag Champ Magazine’s “Top 10 Hottest Drag Racers in the Nation,” holding a spot for a week during the season.
