ELK CREEK, VA — Elk Creek Dragway track owner Mike Walters was working an event at his Virginia drag strip when he got a most unexpected call from Mississippi.
One of his racers, Doug Rasmussen, called to inform Walters that he was picked randomly as the winner of IHRA’s special truck giveaway from Morrow Brothers Ford. Walters' name was drawn at the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals from thousands of entries across the nation.
Will Willard capped off a terrific career in Junior Dragsters with a runner-up finish in the 2024 IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals.
The 18-year-old from Crockett, Virginia used a near perfect .001 start to advance past Race of Champions winner Ryan Roberts in the quarterfinals. Willard then posted a 7.727-second run against a 7.72 dial-in to get past Lane VanNote in the semifinals.
Baley Miles led the way as Music City Raceway riders showed out again at the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals presented by Strange Engineering.
Miles finished runner-up in the Motorcycle class in both Friday’s Race of Champions and Saturday’s main event.
