It sure is a good time to be a Floridian.
As the end of April quickly approaches so too does a double shot of Nitro Jam action at two of the most exciting tracks in the Sunshine State. First, the International Hot Rod Association’s Nitro Jam series will make a stop at Bradenton Motorsports Park for the first time in over a decade for the Bradenton Nitro Jam presented by CarSafe, Metro PCS and Southern Ford Dealers. Next, Nitro Jam will make its much anticipated return to Palm Beach International Raceway for the CarSafe Palm Beach Nitro Jam.
“We are very excited to be returning to Florida with the fastest show on earth,” said Aaron Polburn, President of IHRA Motorsports. “Nitro Jam is a great show for fans of all ages. It features a unique lineup of racing talent that you won’t see anywhere else all for a great price. And we certainly are saving some of our best stuff for the two Florida events as we pull out all of the stops with some of the most exciting shows we have ever done.”
Both events will feature an identical lineup of nitro-powered entertainment with a few unique twists thrown in at each. Headlining Nitro Jam’s Florida swing is the return of 320 mph, 8,000 horsepower Top Fuel Dragsters starring former IHRA World Champion Bruce Litton and Kyle Wurtzel. Both events will also include the fan-favorite AMSOIL Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car class starring some of the most famous and fastest Nitro Funny Cars in the sport including two-time defending Nitro Jam World Champion and world record holder Peter Gallen in the “Poverty Stricken” Monza, the legendary “Candies & Hughes” Barracuda driven by Mike Halstead, Mike McIntire’s “McAttack” Camaro and the world famous “Chi-Town Hustler” Dodge Charger.
Rounding out the nitro lineup is the “Nanook” and “Rat Trap” Fuel Altereds and the daredevils of 220 mph Nitro Harley. Both events will also feature a unique pyro show that includes fireworks, explosions and more and the SuperWinch wheelstander driven by Danny O’Day.
Unique to Bradenton’s event will be the return of the Battle of the Monster Trucks as the most recognizable name in motorsports Grave Digger driven by former Monster Jam World Champion Randy Brown takes on the 30,000 horsepower “Super Shockwave” jet-powered truck.
Fans at Palm Beach International Raceway will be treated to a unique showdown of two of the fastest jet-powered dragsters in the world as the Larsen Motorsports jet team of Elaine Larsen and Marisha Falk battle on the fastest quarter-mile in the south.
Adult tickets are $30 day of show and kids tickets are $10 with a paid adult. Fans can save $5 on tickets if they purchase them in advance at www.nitrojam.com .
Nitro Jam showtime is 7:30 p.m. for the Bradenton event both Friday and Saturday night while the one-night-only show at West Palm Beach will get underway at 7 p.m.
