The IHRA Division 2 Summit Team Finals are scheduled from Sept. 14-16. It was previously announced the Mississippi track will also be the site of the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals for a second straight year.
Holly Springs edged Beacon Dragway 53-52 for its second straight Division 2 title in 2022. London Dragway was also among the top teams. Individual races for the Box, No Box, Sportsman and Junior Dragster classes were also settled.
Allen Gately from Atoka, Tenn., narrowly defeated fellow Tennessee racer Mike Harville for the Box championship. Kentucky racer Charlie Lockhart was the No Box winner with a win over Alabama driver James Shotts in the final round.
Jordan Johnson from Greenbrier, Tenn., took the Sportsman win over Arkansas driver Rachael Haynes. Mississippi driver Rylee Wells captured the Junior Dragster crown with John Varner from Georgia the runner-up.
In addition, there were Gamblers races with 2021 IHRA World Champions Tim Pace (No Box) and David Bigham (Sportsman) among the winners.
