Muncie Dragway finished runner-up in the team standings just one point ahead of host track Dragway 42. Kuhnle Motorsports Park, Pacemakers Outlaw Motorsports Park and Kentucky Dragway were fourth through sixth.
Ricky Roe from Kentucky Dragway had the tremendous .002 reaction time and added a winning run of 5.474 seconds at 124.34 mph against a 5.46 dial-in. It was his second straight IHRA Summit Team Finals title for the longtime competitor who also a divisional winner back in the 1990s. Final-round opponent Mark Gwin from Quaker City went down the track in 5.191 seconds at 133.85 mph after a .044 reaction time.
In an all-Quaker City final, Mark Miller had double-O start with a .006 reaction time to go along with a 6.673-second pass at 101.90 mph to win the Mod (No Box) final. Michael Basinger was runner-up after fouling at the start. It disqualified his 6.866-second run at 91.61 mph.
Gary Blankenship, representing Muncie Dragway, topped Mitch Williams from Dragway 42 in the Sportsman final. Williams had the better reaction time .007 to .033, but broke out with a 7.617-second pass at 86.76 mph against a 7.62 dial-in. Blankenship had a winning effort of 7.517 seconds at 90.23 mph.
Kuhnle Motorsports Park racers faced off in the Motorcycle final with Mike Thompson won on a holeshot with a .032 start to .088 for runner-up Anthony Despenes. Thompson’s solid effort included a 6.427-second pass at 109.76 mph against a 6.42 dial-in. Despenes finished in 6.136 seconds at 114.33 mph.
Tyler Cromer, another Kentucky Dragway racer, scored the Junior Dragster victory. He powered down the track in 7.887 seconds at 81.57 mph along with a .016 reaction time. Runner-up Ryan Roberts from Dragway 42 triggered the red light to DQ his 8.108-second run at 66.06 mph.
