IHRA Triple Crown at Maple Grove Less than 10 Days Away

MOHNTON, Pa. — The biggest stars in drag racing will be competing for huge prizes May 22-24 at the IHRA Triple Crown race at Maple Grove Raceway. Two of country music’s biggest stars will also be there to perform.

Beyond the prestige of winning an IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series event and taking home one of the iconic IHRA Ironman trophies, drivers will be racing for record-breaking purses with $150,000 for each win at the Triple Crown races. If a driver can sweep all three races, which includes later events at Columbus and Memphis, he or she will earn a $1 million bonus.

All your senses will be heightened when 12,000-horsepower, fire-breathing Nitro Top Fuel dragsters and Funny Cars rocket down the drag strip. If you’re into stargazing, the big prizes have brought in some of the biggest names in the sport as well as music superstars Dwight Yoakam and Jake Owen.

Ron Capps, the winningest active Nitro Funny Car driver, with 78 victories and three World Championships, is scheduled to bring his world-famous NAPA Toyota to the Pennsylvania drag strip.

Former IHRA World Champion Del Worsham leads all Funny Car drivers with four victories since the debut of the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series in 2025. He’s fresh off a win in the most recent race at Columbus.

Other top names include Bobby Bode, Dan Hix, Jeff Diehl, Paul Lee and Phil Burkart.

The Top Fuel ranks include recent IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series winner Scott Palmer, who steered his wild-bucking Professional Bull Riders rocket to the win at Virginia. Maddi Gordon, a rising Top Fuel star and teammate to Capps, will be bringing her 330 mph-plus dragster to the historic event.

Spencer Massey, a huge star in the Top Fuel ranks for well over a decade, former FIA European champion Lex Joon, Shawn Reed and Jasmine Salinas are some of the others signed up for the IHRA Triple Crown race.

There is plenty of other exciting action with the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series at Maple Grove Raceway.

They include the outrageous Fuel Altered machines and the incredibly quick Top Alcohol Dragsters and Top Alcohol Funny Cars. There are also ground-pounding Pro Mods, Mountain Motor Pro Stocks, IHRA Factory Pro Stocks, and Top Fuel Motorcycles, the fastest bikes in the world. It’s a chance to see a true drag racing legend Larry “Spiderman” McBride go against the top riders in the class.
