The American Race Cars Junior Dragster will be unveiled at the IHRA Summit SuperSeries World Finals at Memphis International Raceway. The brand-new, turn-key car, which features a uniquely-designed paint scheme by Jerone Settles of Imagine That Customs, is part of a prize package that includes a $3,000-to-win purse for the world champion.
Computech brings a major advancement to the new car with a complete stand-alone data logger designed to fit IHRA Summit SuperSeries regulations.
The DataMaxx Jr. is a valuable tool in tuning the car and it’s designed to fit into the average racer’s budget. It is perfect for Juniors, but it is also a modular system that can expand with the driver and be moved up to a larger car as they grow. Specifically designed to be legal for the Junior Dragsters, it monitors Engine RPM, Jackshaft RPM, Head Temperature, Exhaust Temp and Voltage.
It is a track-tested and proven product used on the Computech Junior Dragster at IHRA Summit SuperSeries races at Maryland International Raceway. Information like Vehicle Reaction Time can show a need to adjust the clutch belt tightness and how a bad light may be the fault of the car instead of the driver. It provides key information pertaining to track conditions, while other information like monitoring spikes in engine RPMs can help in developing the driver’s skill at the finish line.
“With Junior Dragsters, every little variable makes a huge difference going down track,” Computech Systems Vice President of Technology Matt Parlett said. “Whether it be the wind speed, the tightness of the clutch belt or the track conditions, all of these variables get jumbled up into a single ET slip that only tells part of the story. I have found the DataMaxx data to be invaluable when it comes to making our Junior Dragster more consistent."
“As parents, we can’t be in the Junior Dragster with them, but the DataMaxx Jr. Dragster Data Logger Kit is the next best thing.
