US 131, Central Illinois And Grand Bend Win D5 Thunder Summit Super Series

Bill Swain brought an early victory for home track team US 131 as he emerged victorious during the Summit Super Series race today at the D5 Thunder Summit Team Finals.  Swain took out Osceola racer Bill Casner who had a .001 advantage on the tree but broke out by .001.

Team Central Illinois captured the Mod ET title thanks to Rick Shofner’s run through the field.  Shofner defeated Will Steckley from team US 131 in the final round.  Shofner gave up .02 to Steckley on the tree but played the finish line better running .01 over his dial.

In the Junior class team Grand Bend will be sending Luke Schwemler to the Summit Super Series World Championship in Memphis.  Schwemler held off US 131 ace Adam Barr.  Both drivers were almost identical on the starting line but Schwemler was dialed tighter and ran .02 over his dial to Barr’s .03 over effort.
