IHRA Division 9 Summit Team Finals Coming to Darlington Dragway in One Week

HOUSE SPRINGS, Missouri — Darlington Dragway will be the site of the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Division 9 (Raiders) Summit Team Finals from Sept. 29 through Oct. 2.

The iconic drag strip at Hartsville, S.C., which was built by Darlington Raceway founder Harold Brasington, has served as home to many IHRA national and regional events since it opened in 1976.

Participating tracks include: Greer Dragway, Darlington Dragway, Farmington Dragway, Ware Shoals Dragway, Union County Dragway, Coastal Plains Dragway, Pageland Dragway, Elk Creek Dragway, South Carolina Motorplex, Cherokee Dragway, Knoxville Dragway, Roxboro Motorsports Park, Palm Beach International Raceway and Piedmont Dragway. 

Coastal Plains Dragway won its first-ever Division 9 (Raiders) Summit Team Finals title in 2021 and the host Darlington Dragway finished runner-up.

Summit Team Finals Division 9 Header

Any Summit SuperSeries competitor, who has an IHRA membership and an “X” number registered and valid according to IHRA records through his or her division’s Summit Team Finals event, can win the Summit Team Finals main event championship and become eligible for the Summit SuperSeries World Finals at Holly Springs Motorsports October 12-15.

Division 9 (Raiders) Summit Team Finals champions for 2021 were: Tim Lucas from Coastal Plains (Top), Mark Dudley Jr. from Farmington (Mod), Trey Sikes from South Carolina Motorplex (Sportsman) and Anna Canfield from Ware Shoals (Junior).
