Xtreme Raceway Park Rolls to IHRA Division 4 Summit Team Finals Victory

FERRIS, Texas — Xtreme Raceway Park protected the home turf and rolled to a win in the International Hot Rod Association Division 4 (Renegades) Summit Team Finals.

The host track finished 75-61 ahead of I-30 Dragway with Paris Dragway in third place.

Teams from: Pine Valley Raceway, Amarillo Dragway, Prescott Raceway, Evadale Raceway, Edinburg Motorsports, Little River Dragway and Penwell Knights Raceway also participated.

Bobo Marshall from Ennis, Texas was the Top (Box) champion with a 6.333-second pass at 103.97 mph against a 6.33 dial-in, along with a .008 start. Billy Simpson made it the final round and ran a 7.132 at 93.73 mph against a 7.11 dial-in with a .021 reaction time.

Daryl “Scooter” Hamlin from Red Oak, Texas captured the Mod (No Box) win after Justin Enox fouled at the start. Hamlin had a .019 reaction time, but just cruised down the track in 10.801 seconds after getting the win light. Enox was just -.002 too quick at the start, which offset an otherwise solid run at 6.492 seconds and 104.51 mph.

It was an all-female final in the Sportsman class as Nicole Bolton took the win with a 7.526-second pass at 90.54 mph and a .052 reaction time. Melinda Crawford nearly hit a perfect light, but fouled by just -.001 second. It negated her efforts which included a 7.58-second run at 85.02 mph.

Tyler Janousek added to his reputation as one of the best Junior Dragster racers in North America. The Pflugerville, Texas racer won on a holeshot with a .033 to .161 advantage over runner-up Makenzie Roberts. Janousek followed up with an 8.975-second pass at 70.99 mph against an 8.91 dial-in. Roberts, a Forney, Texas driver, posted an 8.986-second run at 71.82 mph against a 9.01 dial-in.

The event also featured a Race of Champions, Gamblers races and a Track Managers race.

Brian Self was the Track Managers winner. He rolled down the drag strip in 10.732 seconds at 65.06 mph after a .012 reaction time. Jackie Lewis was a little faster at 10.133 seconds and 68.78 mph, but lost by leaving too early.
