Lunsford, who was a winner and runner-up in Gamblers races, won the Top ET (Box) despite a near perfect .002 start by runner-up Derrick Thomson, representing Elk Creek. Lunsford, who had a .040 reaction time, posted a 6.498-second run at 106.01 mph. Thomson broke out with a 4.590-second pass at 144.42 mph on a 4.60 dial-in.
Mike Willard captured the Mod (No Box) victory as fellow Elk Creek racer Brandon White was his final-round opponent.
Both Sportsman racers struggled in the final round, but Doug Rasmussen’s pass of 11.178 seconds proved to be enough to get the win. Robbie Copenhaver, who had a much better start, was the runner-up as he cruised across the finish line in 16.709 seconds.
The Willard family had more reason to celebrate when Will Willard took the Junior Dragster win. He posted a 7.625-second run at 82.24 mph on a 7.60 dial-in. Ryan Bell was a little better at the tree with a .017 to .025 reaction time, but came up just short with a 7.975-second run at 78.70 mph on a 7.94 dial-in.
Caleb Hamm ran unopposed in the Motorcycle final. Hamm posted a 6.277-second pass at 114.59 mph on a 6.20 dial-in. It also featured a Teen Championship race with Jaydin Dickerson taking the win with a 10.012-second pass at 68.16 mph in Mike Willard’s Dodge pickup. Charizma Jones raced to the runner-up with an 11.450-second run at 59.35 in a Chevy Tahoe.
