Boyere, Brock, Pruett and Jenkins win Thursday Gamblers at IHRA Division 9 Summit Team Finals

HARTSVILLE, SC — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Division 9 (Raiders) Summit Team Finals began with Gamblers races on Thursday night.

Justin Boyere (Top), Hot Rod Brock (Mod), Kaden Pruett (Junior) and the Jenkins family (Pit Bike) all captured Thursday victories.

Boyere from Team South Carolina Motorplex drove his Chevrolet S-10 pickup to the Top (Box) victory with Richard Morgan from Darlington Dragway also making it to the final round.

Brock from Pageland Dragway also drove a Chevy S-10 to the Mod (No Box) victory. Brock matched his 6.79 dial-in time at 92.88 mph. It was still a closely contested final with JP Britt from Team Darlington going 6.309 against a 6.30 dial-in. Britt had the slight .022 to .023 advantage at the start.

Pruett from Team Darlington had the near-perfect .001 start and a run of 7.914 seconds at 78.91 mph against a 7.91 dial-in. Stanton McCallister of Team South Carolina Motorplex had a fantastic start .009 to go along with a 7.908-second pass at 81.04 mph against a 7.93 dial-in.

The Pit Bike race was an all-Jenkins affair. Trevor Jenkins from Team Pageland and Walker Jenkins representing Shadyside Dragway decided to split the winnings in the final round.

More action is scheduled Friday with another Gamblers race leading into Saturday’s main event.
