Job Title: Assistant General Manager
Location: Maryland International Raceway
Reports to: Maryland International Raceway Vice President/General Manager and Director of Administration and Operations.
Position Summary: Excellent career opportunity for a seasoned hands-on professional to manage the operational aspects of an established racing facility. This includes working closely with our sponsors and racers to help develop marketing programs that enhance the racing experience, hiring and management of staff, assisting handling media and advertising, negotiation of event/sponsor contracts, implementation of racing safety and technical standards, and office management.
Qualifications: The qualified candidate must possess motorsports experience, sports administration, and/or facility management. A minimum of 3 years related experience with an emphasis on event marketing, supervisory experience, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Suite. A background in racing operations and directing events is a plus. Knowledge of various different drag racing genres is helpful. This position must be based in the Mechanicsville, Maryland area.
Schedule/Compensation: This position is full-time with weekend hours. Flexible scheduling will be required based on seasonal event schedule. MDIR offers a competitive salary and benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and a 401(k) Plan.
