Tracks Continue to Sign Agreements with IHRA

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) is proud to announce that multiple tracks have renewed sanctioning agreements with the racing association.  The common theme among all the tracks were the IHRA’s commitment to grassroots, sportsman racing as seen through its programs like the IHRA Summit SuperSeries, the largest and most prestigious bracket racing championship in drag racing.
U.S. 13 Dragway, Great Lakes Dragway, Grand Bend Motorplex, Interlake Dragway, and Buffalo Valley Dragway are the latest to renew their commitments as IHRA member tracks.
 
U.S. 13 Dragway located in Delmar, Del., features a 1/4-mile drag strip, half-mile dirt track, and two karting tracks. The facility is operated by the Cathell family who opened the track in 1963. The 2017 IHRA Summit SuperSeries track champions for U.S. 13 were:  Jamie Russell in Top (Box), Ben Garnett in Mod (No Box) and Cole Foskey in Junior Dragsters.
 
Great Lakes Dragaway features an 1/4-mile track near Lake Michigan in Union Grove, Wisc. The track has been open since 1955 and is billed at “The Biggest Little Track in The World.” Derek Degnitz (Top), Mike Sarauer (Mod) and Tanner Osborne (Junior Dragster) earned Summit SuperSeries track championships in 2017. 
 
Grand Bend Motorplex features an 1/4-mile drag strip in Grand Bend, Ont., and is a world-renowned motorsports destination that has motocross tracks, road courses, and asphalt ovals situated on over 400 acres of land.  The 2017 IHRA Summit SuperSeries track champions for Grand Bend were: Kevin Knight in Top (Box), Will Steckly in Mod (No Box) and Arnold Fox in Junior Dragsters.
 
Interlake Dragway, located in Gimli, Manitoba, Canada, features a 1/4-mile dragstrip, 1.3-mile road course, one-kilometer karting track, and a two-kilometer motocross track. The 2017 IHRA Summit SuperSeries track champions for Interlake Dragway were:  Doug Kendel in Top (Box), Don Funk in Mod (No Box) and Cole Butler in Junior Dragsters.
 
Buffalo Valley Dragway features an 1/8-mile drag strip in Buffalo Valley, Tenn., and nestled in the Middle Tennessee mountains. The 2017 IHRA Summit SuperSeries track champions for Buffalo Valley Dragway were: Randy Rice in Top (Box), Jeff Harmon in Mod (No Box) and Carmin Dyer in Junior Dragsters.
