The 1/8-mile drag strip, located in Southwest Iowa, near the Nebraska, Kansas and Missouri borders, hosts a variety of racing and car-related events. It is just two hours north of Kansas City.
Beyond traditional drag racing, there are street car, no prep and roll racing events. Other special events include: the Big Rig Boulevard Truck Show, the Ice Cream Cruise and the Rustemberfest Car Show.
It’s part of Raceway Park of the Midlands, which features a 2.23-mile road course with 15 turns of increasing and decreasing radiuses, long straights, ample passing zones, challenging switchbacks and a flat-out kink.
The road course is home to private testing, driving schools, drifting competitions and the Great Plains Region — Porsche Club of America events.
“I-29 has become a motorsports Swiss army knife of the Midwest between the drag strip and road course,” said IHRA Division Director Jon O'Neal. “We're happy to offer a viable solution for sanctioning and the chance to offer the greatest program in sportsman bracket racing through the IHRA Summit SuperSeries.”
